What is The Beadnik?!

The Beadnik is an independent business created, owned and operated by Sarah Smith-Stewart. As an avid jewellery maker for over 14 years, The Beadnik's bead collection has grown incredibly! Sarah began selling beads, supplies and jewellery at local markets in New Brunswick, Canada and as word spread, a need to supply out of province (and out of country!) beaders increased until The Beadnik Online was born!

Pricing

As a jewellery designer, The Beadnik always strives to keep prices reasonable. We determine our prices by taking the price that we paid from my bulk suppliers and the price that local stores charge and then setting our price in between the two! For this online store, we give an extra special deal compared to buying individual beads in person:
Small packaged quantities (eg. 10, 15, 20 or 25): save 15%!
Large packaged quantities (eg. 50, 75, 100 or 125): save 25%!

Packaged findings and spacers (plated, sterling, etc) have their own pricing - typically, the larger packages save you 30-40% compared to the small packages!!

Shipping

The Beadnik always ships by Canada Post letter mail to keep prices low (and to avoid long waits for US customs). The shipping amount is based on actual shipping plus packaging - bead and jewellery orders are always sent in bubble packs and in extra bubble wrap if necessary.  If ordering from the US, please be aware that some packages may be stopped at the border and assessed duties/taxes!

Local Customers

Local customers (ie. Fredericton, New Brunswick area) can place their orders, ignore the shipping fee on the final invoice and contact Sarah to arrange payment (452-0891). Simply let us know that this is what you'd like to do in the 'special instructions' box in the Checkout.

Payment Methods

The Beadnik accepts both paper and online payments. If you wish to send payment by mail, we accept Canadian cheques (with a 10 day bank hold) and both Canadian and US money orders (American money orders must be int'l, not the green domestic ones which can't be negotiated outside of the US!). Online payments that we accept in both US and CAD$ are through Paypal - a free service for buyers!
